SINOSSI

L’astronauta Debora fluttua nello spazio con la sua singolare tuta spaziale. Dopo una turbolenza si risveglia in un ambiente domestico familiare ma che stenta a riconoscere: tutti gli oggetti che incontra hanno subito una metamorfosi.

Esplorando questo ambiente incontra due aliene, sua Madre e sua Nonna, che in modo telepatico le raccontano della loro vita, della sessualità e della maternità. Una volta riallacciato il legame con loro, l’astronauta Debora ripartirà per proseguire il suo viaggio.

NOTE DI REGIA

Maris, che in lingua friulana significa madri, è anche il nome per rappresentare la stella Polare, guida e riferimento dei viaggiatori. 653 sono i chilometri che separano Roma, città in cui ho vissuto per molti anni, e la mia casa d’origine dove ancora oggi vivono mia madre e mia nonna. In questo rientro mi sono sentita così fuori posto da immaginarmi come un’astronauta che esplora un nuovo pianeta.

Durante la mia adolescenza, quando vivevo ancora a Premariacco, la mia vita era molto condizionata della dimensione religiosa, perché determinava cosa era giusto o sbagliato.

Dopo aver vissuto a lungo in una città come Roma, la mia maternità mi ha riportata a vivere nel mio paese di origine, un piccolo paese di provincia nel nord Italia.

Mi sono scontrata con la grande distanza che esiste tra il mio sguardo sul mondo e quello delle persone che sono rimaste li. Mi sono sentita così fuori posto da immaginarmi come un’astronauta che esplora un nuovo pianeta.

L’intento del corto documentario “Maris B653″ è quello di raccontare, attraverso una narrazione  sperimentale, un’esperienza reale, intima e famigliare, in cui il legame socio-culturale attraversa le vite di tre generazioni di madri.

Quello che racconto è la mia paura, e quella di molte altre donne, di avventurarsi nella vita per scoprire qualcosa di sé e dei propri desideri, abituate culturalmente a un atteggiamento di passiva ubbidienza e regole che non devono essere discusse.

SYNOPSIS

Debora, dressed with an odd space suit, floats into the outer space. After a cosmic turbulence, she awakens in a domestic environment that is familiar to her but she finds it hard to recognize because all the objects inside have undergone a metamorphosis.

After a turbulence, astronaut Debora reawakens in a familiar domestic environment that she hardly recognizes because everything has undergone a metamorphosis. Here she meets two aliens, her Mother and Grandmother, who telepathically tell her about life, sexuality and motherhood.

DIRECTOR’S NOTES

Maris in Friulian language means “mothers” but it is also the name of the Polar Star, the guiding light for all travellers. 653 are the kilometres between Rome – the city where I lived for many years – and my hometown, where my mother and my grandmother still live.

During my adolescence while I was living in my hometown, life was very much influenced by the religious sphere that determined what was right and what was wrong.

After living many years in a city like Rome, maternity brought me back home. There I confronted myself with the huge distance between my look upon the world and that of those who remained there. I felt so out of place that I visualized myself as an astronaut who explores a new planet.

The aim of my short film “Maris B653” is to tell through an experimental narration this real, intimate and familiar experience where the socio-cultural bond crosses the lives of three generations of mothers.

I wanted to tell the fear – mine and of many other women – of venturing in life to discover something about themselves and their desires, accustomed to a behaviour of passive obedience and unquestionable rules.
